After suffering with depression, self-harm and eating disorders for 10 years, I wanted to make a difference to the stigma attached to mental health and to enable health professionals and teachers to recognise signs of mental health issues (particularly in young people).
I am fully recovered from my eating disorder and I am a trained therapist and a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I co-chair the Parliamentary Health Service Ombudsman’s Delivery Group in response to the ‘ignoring the alarms‘ report that was published in 2017.
I co-chaired the Expert Reference Group for NHS England that developed the new adult eating disorder guidance for commissioners and service providers:
